My First Blog - Rant against Email technology/NY Lincoln Center

In case anyone cares to know what's going on with me lately (or on a more frequent basis), I've started this blog. It's actually easier to publish than it is to write an email, given that my email gets blocked half the time to all my friends on AOL (or more than half, actually) and to lots of other people when I'm on the road. And I'm unable to get anyone to tell me how to avoid it looking like a "relayed message" when I'm on the road and using a local wireless connection, as well.

I've been rendered unable to use my Mail application (I have a Mac), because I can't use my regular email SMTP settings to SEND emails from my normal account. Perhaps if I signed up with each and every service I use to get online and sent an email through their email server (and a new, different email address each time), then it would "work." But wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of having ONE email where everyone can reach me?? It's maddening, and nobody wants to tell me how to get around these problems. So, meanwhile, I RECEIVE emails just fine in my Mail application, but then have to go online to reply to them through Webmail. And even that has been screwed up this past month!

So, I just arrived in New York, where I'm going to sing in Grendel (again), this time at Lincoln Center. We're in a beautiful hotel mid-town, so it should be fun to hang out with other cast members by the pool, etc...

I am a bit bummed that there's not much going on in the festival during our run that I want to see - except DruidSynge AND MOST OF ALL, GORAN BREGOVIC, who's performing at the SAME TIME as us!!! Crap. Oh well, I guess I'll just visit with friends this trip. If you're in town, give me a holler, and we should get together!
